Three summer-proofing tips to help extend the life of your concrete and maintain curb side appeal
1. INSTALL A SHADE CLOTH.
Although this is not the cheapest option, installing a shade cloth will protect your concrete and vehicles. The UV radiation in Summer months can impact your concrete by breaking down bonding chains of the concrete structure. In time, this damage weakens the concrete, which may result in cracks and spalling. In addition to damaging your concrete, UV rays can cause damage to your car interior and exterior, causing the paint to wear faster potentially result in exterior paint peeling, fading or cracking and can cause interior damage such as your dashboard fading and over time cracks to appear.
2. SEALANT PROTECTION.
Sealant helps protect concrete against leaks, oil, grime, and other stains. It also offers protection against the harmful UV rays of the sun and prevents coloured concrete from fading.
3. COLOUR CHOICE.
Darker colors absorb more UV than lighter colors, which is a factor to consider when selecting a tinted sealant or concrete stain.
