HOW TO REMOVE AN OLD POST SET IN CONCRETE

There are several methods to this process. The first step is to assess the size of the task at hand. Are you removing one letter box post, or several fence posts, this will impact which method best serves your needs:

1. DIG THE POST OUT BY HAND. The most common way to remove a fence posts out of the ground is by digging the earth out from around the concrete base. This will simply require a shovel, time and energy.

2. USE A JACK. This process costs more, but will save you time and energy. If you don't own a JACK, there are hiring options.

3. USE AN EXCAVATOR TO REMOVE THE POST. Especially for large jobs, it's best to hire a trades person to excavate your posts.
